off-road fuel users?

just wondering how many of you guys on here use off-road fuel?? i use it because it's alot cheaper and the diesel engines make more power on it. although fuel filters need to be changed a little more frequently. also it makes the oil turn black a lot quicker. i used to be able to run 1,000-1,500 miles befor the oil would start to get black when i used to run "clear fuel" on both my 91 cummins, and my 94 ford 7.3 turbo diesel. the extra sulfur in the off-road fuel helps with lubricity too! later, pete

1) First I've heard that diesels run better on it.

2) I hope you are socking away the money per gallon saved in case you get dipped one day..............

3) I'm not sure how it works in Ohio, but in Maryland and Delaware the red is the EXACT same fuel as #2 just dyed for tracing purposes.

Good luck with that.

I ran red fuel for several years and never noticed any difference in performance.
Always felt guilty cheating on the taxes but used the rationalization that since the the closest station to the farm with diesel was 75 miles away...

Now that a close by station carries it I feel better running the taxed stuff.

I have run about two and a half 275 gallon tanks full of home heating oil through my truck. I and a couple of friends salvage it from people who are switching to natural gas, and my friends also run it in their furnaces. Runs just fine, although I do use filters faster. Smells a little stinkier I guess. Right now I am running about 50% B99 and 50% HHO.

Legally I need to look into it, but I've been told by a couple of people that since we are salvaging it, and not buying it at the pump, we are not breaking the law, since the tax is a sales tax. I don't know if that's true, I just run the stuff and cross my fingers. It helps my bottom line and the truck likes it just fine.
