Military JP-8

I happen to have a 5 gallon can of Military JP-8 fuel hanging around the garage. It's the same type of fuel that we run in all our Humvees and other trucks. I shouldn't have any problem dumping this into my Cummins right? It's basiclly the same thing as regular diesel as far as I know. I just don't want it to hurt anything.

5 gallons in a full tank won't be a problem.

If you look in your manual, I think it says you need to add some lubrication. 5% comes to mind.

What about JP5 or JP8 in a P-pumped truck? Any reason not to do it?

No need to in a P-pump, the fuel doesn't lube the internal parts like on the VE and VP pumps.

So there are no fuel system worries at all in a 12V running JP5 or JP8? I know the pump is safe but I was worried about other components.

i dont know if it would kill a p pump but i know it kills the pumps on the hummv . the way i fixed it from killing those pumps was added a quart of 10wt to each fill up and pumps lived alot longer . so i think it would be ok in are truck if you add some 10wt to it .
