First tank of biodiesel today

I filled up my truck with B10 today for the first time. A local Pilot truck stop has it. Am I going to notice anything different running B10? I know biodiesel acts as a cleaning agent, but at what percent? It was a little cheaper than regular #2, so if it has no ill side effects I might keep running bio fuel.

With B10 you should notice your engine is a little bit quieter.

Don't know about B10, but after switching to B100, I had to change fuel filter rather quickly. No problems since. Just watch your post-filter fuel pressure...

Well, I ran through my first tank of B10, I did notice the engine was a little quieter and the exhaust was a little different smelling. My mileage did go down a little bit too. I normally get 16.5 -17.0 mixed driving with a moderate foot. With the b10 I got about 15.5 same driving style.

I just did a comparison of mileage between b100 and ULSD and the ULSD actually got less, 15.5 vs 16.5 with the b100. Same driving style and everything.

I too get better milage with the B100 vs. ULSD#2. If you ask me, B100 is a superior fuel with no comparison. I've seen alot of threads about it smelling like coward fries. The fuel I get is made from virgin soybean oil and it stinks like nothing edible. I think you need to convert post-consumer oil to get any kind of food smell from it.
