Stopped in for a soda and had a conversation with the owner,
asked jokingly when he's going to raise them again.
He said right after he gets his next load, around 3pm this afternoon, he'll be raising it another .10 cents.

He also said, and I actually believe him, he payed $3.07 a gallon for the Diesel currently in his tanks,
taking a .02 cent loss selling it at $3.05.
He can't raise the price because the station 2 blocks down is selling it for $2.98,
and folks that aren't Chevron loyal would pass right by and hit the Phillips.

Just back from filling my 5 gallon jug to feed the Geezer-Glide.
$17.25.
Thank goodness that 5 gallons will let me commute back and forth for a week.
It was funny to see the difference of 2 cents a gallon between two stations, and people waiting in line in their cars to save, what.....maybe 50 cents on a fillup.
I paid the 2 cents higher price and was in and out in about 5 minutes.

Well, gas at more than one station in Chattanooga hit $5.00 today. Very shortly thereafter TV trucks showed up and the stations immediately closed. Several stations in Atlanta were at 5 or slightly above yesterday afternoon. Governor sent investigators out immediatley.

Things seem to have settled around 3.35 for the last few hours. Diesel is varying between 2.80 and 3.10

I was a day slow (pretty typical for me) in getting the drums I normally use for bio filled up with regular diesel. That delay cost me $50.00...

But, we are getting ready to head to Hattiesburg in the next 2 weeks to bring some folks up here. Looks like right now we are taking 3 trucks. 2 with campers and 1 with a utility trailer. Probably use most of that fuel but that is why I got it so i'm glad to have it.

I saw on the news where the news guy was asking one owner of a gas station that jacked up the price to 6 something a gallon, why he did it. The man (who was of middle eastern ethnicity by the way) said that he was "only trying to discourage people from buying the fuel so he wouldn't run out".

Uh ... why not just put up a sign NO FUEL SOLD HERE TODAY instead of trying to rape the people who may not have a choice but to buy from you ???

Where is an immigration agent when you need one ??

I got fuel on Sunday 08/28/05 at 5:00 A.M. and I paid 2.97/ gallon for it, later on in the afternoon the same station it had jumped to $3.07/ gallon.
I guess they were using their crystal ball to see the damage the hurricane did that had not hit land yet.
Today I am at a 1/2 tank and I need to fill up. Today as I was going to work, the station where I got fuel is now $3.35/ gallon and in Chino, Ca. it is $3.49/ gallon. If this is not gouging, what is it?
I went in the mini-mart at the station to get a drink and I ask the guy behind the bulletproof glass why is it so high? He said "it is because of the hurricane and havent you heard, the refineries are broken this is where all of our gas comes from." This is the story I get out here in California.
I say we are being GOUGED.

Took my chances today and filled up. Went to a new station that just opened and bought auto diesel for $2.72 per gallon.

If it wasn't for all my gas cans full of gasoline I would go back and fill them up! And go figure that my Magnum, Springer, ATV, lawnmower, etc are already topped off.
And if gasoline wasn't $.15 more than diesel I would dump it on the ground.

Okay, I am back from my trip to Ocean City. One thing is for SURE, there are some gougers on the way down there!! Come on, .50 and .60 cent differneces in a gallon of fuel???? It makes me angry to see people getting smoked for a gallon of gas like that. There is just NO WAY that stations apox. 3 miles apart are paying that much more or less per gallon for thier loads of fuel.

Saw anywhere from $3.05 to 3.69 a GALLON for gas and $2.89 to $3.19 for #2.

I'll be glad when it settles down to the bargain price of $2.75 a gallon again!

I guess California will be at $5.00 a gallon by Labor Day??
