NJ to get +15 cent gas tax hike
NJ to get +15 cent gas tax hike
http://www.tstc.org/bulletin/20031117/mtr43702.html
I didn't check my Motor carrier's atlas yet but it was said on WABC today that NJ is #3 for lowest gas taxes in the USA. Just curious as to what #1 and #2 are? And does lowest taxes directly relate to cheaper fuel (i.e. NJ would have the 3rd cheapest fuel prices in the country)? Also I wonder if "gas" means gas and diesel?
Paying 1.39 for now... Anyone paying less?

Re:NJ to get +15 cent gas tax hike
Being a former NJ resident, I can attest to the fact that fuel is extremely cheap there. And, it's pumped by an attendant. If you want sticker shock, cross any bridge from NJ to PA or NYC. This may be a ploy to switch to self serve, an idea that has faced major opposition in the past. I personally believe a fifteen cent hike will never make make it thru; maybe a portion of that. BTW, I paid $1.31 for Texaco Premium diesel there about 3 weeks ago in South Jersey.
