My neighbor drives a fuel tanker so he often fills me in on the latest rumors and price direction as per the loading dock and he told me on Friday night that prices would be jumping today because of some incident on Friday afternoon where an oilfield or refinery worker was decapitated and mutilated or canibilized by natives in the area. He said that this had been reported on CNN. I've looked but can't find any story like that but sure enough, diesel prices jumped $0.07 to $0.11 today. The bad news is that his take on this was that oil would pass $100/barrel and diesel would hit $4.00/gal. and he's usually pretty close to right. Has anyone seen this story or know why we just got another price spike?

 

i heard the same, but it was due to the USA going after Iran or something for nukes
