Picked up a pulley idler bearing this morning at a parts house for $1.89. I'll try it tonight.

Good deal, did you find out why your rail pressure is low at WOT?

Not yet, need to check to see if the APPS goes to 100% with the pedal on the floor, I'm guessing that it isn't. I'll take a look tonight...

You will get the oil pan to clear the crossmember and then lower the engine until the rear of the valve cover clears the cowl.
Thanks Dockboy- I appreciate the tip. I was thinking about trying that next along with the valve cover off. I had the engine tipped nose-high when I tried last weekend and it just wasn't going to go. I've since re-adjusted the chains so I can lift it level and tip it nose down to clear the cross member. Now I just have to get after it.

5.9, from what I can see, the turbo I installed is so tiny that it doesn't seem to be a problem. My ECM and cooler plate are in the factory locations without any interference.

Went looking for some misc hardware yesterday locally and totally struck out. It's the little stuff like metric bolts and plugs that can really eat up time, plus being a second shift corpse, I find it difficult to get anything done before midnight.

The VSS signal is a voltage pulse that increases in frequency as the vehicle speed increases. I don't know if the frequency of this pulse according to speed is the same from a Ford to a Dodge or not (I assume it is not). Scott at Destroked said that if it has a signal at all, the ECM is happy.
But is it happy with a PULSED signal?

Yes, the "swap" took place from Nov to Dec last year. Wife has been driving it everyday since then. Just working on some minor details right now. (Squeaky pulley, rail pressure issue, no tach yet).

Never mind, that was a stupid question. A better question would be, "is the pulse frequency at a given speed the same? " I wouldn't be surprised if they are-

5.9 If you have the factory gas tach I can show you how to make it work for about $70

BigBully, you have my attention. How can you do it?

I put the new bearing in the idler pulley, no luck. I'm determined the power steering pump is going out. I bought it used from a salvage yard, should have known better. The noise is dependant on the movement of the steering wheel.

Just Purchase this http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.c...rod/prd128.htm
Little puppy and wire it up. You can buy or borrow a light tach to adjust it right on.

Its real easy to do. On all I have done I have had to go into the AlT and solder a wire on but its no biggie.

Good news "Cummins Music to my ears"

5.9 excursionI had some pleasant noise in the shop today, the sound of an open throated Common Rail sitting on it's wooden crate at idle.Hopefully i will figure out the Accelerator pedal color codes tonight, for some reason the stripe on the wires is missing so I will have to dig a little deeper. It sure was a relief to hear it run,I was expecting a dead ECM from putting the 12 volts in the wrong spot.
I almost forgot to say a big thanks to Bob Wagner and Marco the smarter fixed the skimm in in about 4 minutes, applied 12 volts to pin 13 touched the starter wire and Cummins Music was heard.
