small update, i finally filled my deer tags!, but about the truck, the motor is painted and looking good, KDP is dead, and new oil pan gasket installed, new front seal of course, and rear main will be done today, i got the rag back from the transmission shop and shes ready for a coat of paint...i have to get a new clutch yet and when i do i should be able to bolt the rag to the engine and leave them together....pics will come shortly

It is good to know about the deer tags. I didn't want to have to rag on you about being a no hunter AND putting a diamond in a goats hinder as well.

ok another update.....the engine and trans are in the truck and mounted down! sorry no pics yet.....i'm done posting up the crappy cell phone pictures give me a couple days i'm going out and buying a digital camera....pics soon

here's some pics....its finally in its final resting place after fixing several problems with clearance.....as you can see in the third pic the bellhousing bolts didnt have much room to spare.....if anyone has any questions or comments i'd be happy to hear them....

will you be able to take the tranny out later down the road if you were to replace a clutch? looks pretty close. Nice build-up!!

at first, no i wouldnt have been able to.....but i took the motor back out and massaged the firewall and transmission tunnel.....with a 12lbs. sledge and now if i drop the transmission crossmember it lets the motor rock back just enough that i can get them....thanks!

a big hammer is a most have in any garage!, yeah i owe "Jungle" that nickle....its a set of resistors.....i'm assuming they were to deal with the starter being 24v and the rest of the electrical was the normal 12v....i think i'm going to rip all the factory wiring out of the chevy and install a wiring harness out of a gas powered pickup....the military really hacked the wiring up i believe it would be just as simple to swap everything out....

You using the factory chevy gauges ??

If they even came with gauges...I think the CUCV's had the 4 idiot lights over on the left.

more updates....i know they haven't been coming fast but iv still been plugging away at the project....iv even got my body man doing some work on the truck as well...(new door skins)......anybody got an opinion on a color for this truck? im thinking maybe burnt orange or black.....any ideas would be appreciated!.....heres some more pics!
