1973 crew cab 5 speed

was a 440 auto
decided to go cummins 5 speed


First a little body work
floors rotted

Wow!! Nice job so far...That's a lot of work to ditch those rusty floors. Keeps us up to date on your progress.

got the drive shaft and fuel tank mounts figured out

Now, take it all apart again
re-tube the middle shaft

total length is 154" 3- shafts total

got the cross members locations drilled/bolted
for the drive shafts
the bolt holes were easy to locate using a template



the rear fuel tank cross member
wants to share space
with the emergency brake cables and cargo bulkhead

gayle is working on the cab

she got all the old seam sealer dug out
applied the new



she also got the interior and door post painted
"Hammered" silver paint
to off set the gray interior -dash , seat, carpet




i worked on the exhaust
didn't have enough 3"
So, used 4" and made it look like
a Full-flow muffler just needs welding

also make grease-able hinges

top closed


top open


bottom closed


bottom open ( tube needs welding)
ID of tubing is just large enough
for pin to fit
so that tubing supports the whole pin
instead of 2 little bushings

got the fuel tank mounted

had to step the cargo floor
(1" corragated alum. aircraft flooring)
will use the upper level
for storing the spare tire

the holes in the "X" strips
is for tie downs



can also remove the middle floor
to service the fuel tank/ drive shaft
