12valve into 2002 dodge ram 24v
12valve into 2002 dodge ram 24v
I dont have the truck yet but once i do as soon as i'm able to put some money into it i was thinking about doing a p-pump conversion, but then i saw how much it would cost. So now im thinking about just putting in a 12valve motor, has anyone done this or know anything about it. The big thing about this conversion would be the gauges (id go all custom instead of trying to make the stock ones work)
Im just planning ahead and doing my research and hopefully this project will follow through

Im actually looking for an 98-02 gasser (cheaper buy-in than diesel?), to drop a 12 valve in. 98s had the new interior, with the 12valve. I would imagine it wouldnt be hard at all to make the gauges work; possibly a computer & gauge assembly, whatever they have (I cant think of the name off the top of my head), from the 98 12valve would be a direct swap. Maybe even work with the current gauges for the 24v app.?
Im in the planning (dreaming) stage right now, and have thought about that exact thing. Thats what I had come up with

I'm thinking if i get the 24valve the motor mounts should be the same, and the 12valve should just drop right in.
but buying a gasser would be cheaper but could you use the fuel tank are they the same as the diesel one??

I think the fuel tank is set up different than the diesel tanks it wouldnt take more than just buying a diesel sending unit and dropping it in

Also, you can make a diesel dash work on a late 2nd gen with a PCM from a 12V 98.
I plan on installing a 12V in a later 2nd gen as soon as funds allow...

p pump should be cheaper or the same cost as buying a 12v and all the labor to install. it cost about 4500 for me to install a 12v in my 03 and thats not counting the cost of the motor
