Platte City Mo. pull

Any info on the pull Fri. night. It was a big payout so there should have been some heavy hitters there.

There were, it was awesome! 40 diesels in teh stock street class, 6 in the super modified... the guy driving the Schiedes Deisel D3500 walked the sled almost 500 feet before he ran out of room, they were average was 300-320....and he was pulling like he could have kept going!
15 of the stock street trucks made a full pull and we left around 0100 before they finished the pull off.
A lot of sweet trucks, and some really cool modiffied tractors....

Tomac has the 02 Red Chevy. That truck is BAD!

GWoody's is the 04 Black Dually.

Great job to all of the pullers!

There was alot of Carnage in the pull off. How many broke. Someone told me 8 of the 15 broke in the pull off. I know what I am going to be doing this week. I should buy stock in DANA - OH wait, I DO own stock in DANA.

To bad they did not let Dan Painter in the street class. He won it last year by a pretty sick margin.

Does anyone have it on video? We got HOOKED, and a couple of other trucks, but not all of them.

Why exactly was he kicked from the street class? I chatted with him shortly before we started the open class (I pulled right after him in the blue/gray dodge) and he was saying he really should have been in the street diesel class. Then he signaled for his bud to start spraying ether into the intake to get it started

Tomac had a nice looking pull in the pulloff, hats off to him

I've got the whole thing on video, hopefully I can get it online within a week or so. Just got back from another pull, 407' for 1st place, I need some sleep...

CarcajouCummins, just give me a call on that redline...

The Platte City pulls are different than most. In a nutshell, the main points are single turbo 2.8 or smaller, 26" hitch, 1" of suspension travel, no drugs and some safety rules. DHRA is the same except they put a limit on RPMs of 4500. The 4500 rpm rule really seemed to level the playing field for DHRA, but Platte City had no RPM limit.

8500# Street Diesel (30 trucks)

Micheal Tomac - Duramax - 328.6"
Terry Coppess - Cummins - 325.0"
Kevin Cole - Cummins - 321.3"
Tony Imhoff - Cummins - 318.7"
Landin Holmes - Duramax - 314.11"

I broke another stock rear axle, each time I pull an 8500# class I break an axle. I ordered aftermarket ones but didn't get them in time for this pull.

There were 13 very strong trucks that made it over 300' so there was a pulloff for the big money at the end.

There were several heavy hitters from from as far away as OH, MI, WI & KY at this pull. Thanks to the Platte Co. Fair and St. Joseph Diesel for putting on this great pull with a $5000 purse.
