Talking I raced a 3rd gen on the interstate in FUELSAVER mode!

well i was going to school tonight, about to get on 210(hwy), when i see a 3rd gen blowing alittle smoke to get on the interstate.
so i get all excited and try to catch up, hes about 5 cars ahead.
so i get on it passing a powerjoke( he thought he wanted some till i flew by him).
now hes 3 cars ahead stuck behind a car. that car moves, he takes off up the 210 bridge. the chevy truck in front of me tries to take off, but not much happens. so i start to pass him to show him i want to GO, but i cant b/c theres a car in the right lane alittle ways ahead. so i get back over, he passes the car, i pass him.
now we're going down the bride and i get behind the silver ext cab swb 4x4 with a EDGE sticker in the back glass, he also had dual exhaust with 6"-7 " tips.
so i go to pass and get on side (we're doing 70-80mph) as soon as i get on the side i let off a bit and i hear him floor it(seemed like a auto),
so i put it to the floor and we stayed even for a BRIEF sec, i constantly pulled away from him enough to pass him then i look at the speedo and see 110MPH so i let off. by now hes a good distance back, he proably let off.
but who cares, i got him in FUELSAVER mode on the smarty!
i am not saying my truck is super fast or anthing like that,
i'm posting this to show that the fuelsaver is not a slowploke feature, I can still blow some nice black smoke.
and yes i wish it would have been a Powerjoke, but ill take what i can get this is the face i was giving to the 3rd gen as i was passing him.
i wish i would have looked at my boost, but all i was worried about was my fuel psi, since i ve been having problems w/ it , it did fine no less than 14psi.

That's funny right there.

I raced my buddy's truck in fuel saver one day. He had his comp on 1 or 2 and mach 1.5's with a super B. I was even with him. I miss my smarty.

Dieselfan, just out of curiosity, what kind of mileage are you getting out of fuel saver mode when you're trying to save fuel?

My buddy got pulled over a few days ago in his 05 Duramax trying to catch up to a 3rd gen Cummins. He was at 115mph when he saw the red and blues pullin up behind him.

He was "politely" asked (with a drawn 9mm) to get out of the vehicle and lay face down on the pavement with his hands behind his back. He was then handcuffed and put in the back seat where he was read his rights.

The details get sketchy from there but in the end the cop let him drive away with a $400 fine. He was out of province so the full impact of the infraction has yet to be realized. I asked how long he figures to get that taste out of his mouth. He did not smile!!

Even with the worry of losing his license for the next two years he still kept coming back to the fact that the Cummins was leaving him behind at 115mph!!

on that tank i drove normal (under2k rpm accelerating, 65-70mph crusing) till that race on the interstate and got 17.9 mpg mostly city. on this tank i can count the times i put it to the floor on one hand, its usually more.

the tank before that on SW#7 i got 15.7 mpg mostly city, trying for good mpg.

the tank before that on SW#9 i got about the same, i was trying on this tank also .

let me stress my trips are short (under 20miles) with the a/c on max circulation fan speed 1.
i keep my rpms under 2k 98% of the time except when i have to get in some where.
some people report better mileage on SW#7&9, but i drive to fast on those programs, even when i m not trying to.
the 17.9 was the best i ever got in the city.
i also like the way my truck drives on fuelsaver, now all i need is some 100hp sticks .

thanks dieselfan

My buddy was on his harley doin 106 on I-44 when he got clocked by a hypo coming up behind him. He cuffed him and he had to sit on the side of the rode next to his bike until backup got there An hour later they let him go so he could get to work....
