finnaly ran my truck in the quarter

the best time out of my three passes was a 14.68 @98.110 in the 1330. that was a 2hi launch from an idle it spun second and third not bad i dont think. ill probably be doing some tuning and see what i can get it down to.

Why weren't you launching in 4hi? And why didn't you build atleast 4-6PSI boost, that would cut your E.T. a fair amount...

i thought 4wd was only for trucks running 13's and down.
wont it do a slower time if you use 4wd when you dont need it?
you'd think it would....

I would use 4hi on any truck, my old '99 with an ez on it would break them loose without much trouble. tire slip=slower time. but my buddys truck runs a 12.6(daily driver)

i use 4hi on my truck when launching and threw 4th to keep from breaking loose, then i just shift out before i hit 5 and 6. i do have manuel shift transfer case though. i run better times like that then just in 2wd.

Leaving the staging lanes in 4WD High will help any truck get a better time regardless of how slow or fast they are. I don't neccessarily agree with the notion that leaving the truck in 4WD high slows a truck down that much as I have it done it both ways and have almost always been within 1/10th of a second either way. However, with that being said, on all my trucks I launch in 4WD High and then AS SOON as my trucks hit second gear I slide my transfer case from 4WD High to 2WD. Here is a video link for you to watch on how I do it at the recent "Outer Banks Bounty Hunter Diesel Drag Races"

98 mph is well into the 13s with a boosted launch. But be careful of those shafts. Not all shafts are created equal.

I think you would be safe doing a 2-5PSI launch in 4hi, just by doing that you will knock a bunch off of your time. Regardless it's still a better time than my truck! lol

Yeah. Don't try and 8psi 2wd launch. Last time I did that it spun all the way through 3rd. Went from a 14.6 to a 15.8.
