Finnaly , I got a FE clutch!!!

I have been dealing with a slipping clutch due to sticks and a sticky loud pedal. I called the guy at 6 states distributers in Boise and started quizing the guy about clutches, the salesman was over his head and gave me the number from their clutch biulder in SLC. I called the guy, very knowlegable by the way, I told him what i had planned . The guy told me about his FE clutch that was designed to compete with the SBC, then he named several performance shops in the area who i could call and ask what they thought. The shops he named i know of from when i used to play with my old truck. The short of it is they take a new luk clutch set and take the disk out, reline it with their FE material. The guy warned me to break the clutch in for 500-800 miles with stop and go driving and no Comp or extreme driving. I asked the guy about warranty and he said if you follow the rules he will warranty it. Then i asked if i break the center out or something and he said he will cover it. So for the price i will try it as i cannot afford a SBC and i had zero problems with a Luk setup in my old truck. Now all i need is to get FOZSWEET53 back down here from N. Idaho and help me put it in, I'm not sure i can wait that long. I will get it done in the next couple weekends.

its real easy to put in. the hardest part is getting the cross memeber out of there. you will probley want a port-a-power. but you can get away with out one. just have a real big hammer and a crow bar instead. good luck man

get a small bottle jack and some wood blocking...put it between the frame rails and spread it apart...the crossmember comes out and goes back in like candy and can be done for very cheap. i tried beating it with a hammer and crowbar with no luck...had to use the bottle jack trick to get it back in. it will come out with a hammer but look out becuase when it comes free it shoots straight down

I work in SLC quite a bit. Can you tell me who the clutch house is there. I might have to drop by and have a talk. I just put on an PS62 turbo from the II boys and a clutch may be down the road sooner than I thought. Thanks!
