I like the tubbed dakotas myself with slicks. Look real sharp done up. But the glass body is REAL pricey.

If your using a 1.81 they will fail quicker than the 1.76's. We gave up on running them behind shoot out class cars. Anything quicker than 6.30s in the 1/8 seems to shell the 1.8's out pretty quick. That was in a 3200 pound w/driver big block car that was running 5.5s. But they have some better ones out there now.

Buying an ex pro stock truck and converting it would be cheaper in the long run than building a tube frame race truck from scratch.

Your right on with that 1.81 comment. And i was to dumb or un-educated to know at the time. The tranny guy called one day and said he was starting on the glide today and gave ME the decision on the two gear sets, not knowing there were any strength diff. i choose the deeper gear. Later i read all the info. that id never moticed before on the subject. Really though i wonder why there would be a diff. in them, and i was disapointed in the shop for not recom. the 1.76 since he knew what i was doing with this thing! I have no clue what this trucks going to run im just hoping for somewhere in the 6's but from what ive been reading its going to take a bunch to do that.
