Big Rigs Talk about other Cummins powered vehicles here. As a matter of fact, it doesn't even have to be Cummins, but it will be diesel! :)

Anyone own one, just for having?

We run old trucks. 82 Pete EXHD 359, 85 Pete short hood, 86 Pete EXHD 359, 89 Pete EXHD 379. The old 359s to me are comfortable to drive, plenty of room, the 379 seems like it's too close and confined to me.

Thanks for the well wishes guys we are in NYC now getting more chemo and Sunday we'll be heading back home for a couple weeks. I think the best thing about older trucks is that there put together with nuts-bolts and steel not plastic and clips making it esier to customize things like the dash pannels etc. etc.

Some of my friends over on the 1st gen forum keep up with my daughters progress through our website so i'll link it here and leave it at that I know most of ya'll come to DTR to hear about cancer kids and I'll respect that. http://www.sparklyflower.com/

Cool post guys! I thought I was the only crazy one in the world who wanted a "BIG RIG" to play with. My dream truck is a 60's "B" model Mack. I drove for 20 + years and I do miss it. I would love to restore a B model and use it for RV purpose's. Hmmm! maybe some day after I rebuild my Dodge 85 Crewcab. Thanks for the interesting posts...Augie

Many times I have seen complete rigs for sale for ~10k-15k, but with a million miles. Are those with 1 million miles on the engine in such bad condition (mechanical wise) to be such a low price?

i know around here you can own one for personal use and plate it as an RV. Friend of mine did that so he could haul his steam tractors to shows and pulls.
