where can one find an oil passage diagram for the 8.3 pump. would like to put one on a 5.9. the one i have has no external oil line.

this old man has been playing around with diesels since 1997 and i still dont understand why it is so hard to get tech info on diesel engines. it is like trying to get blood out of a turnip when asking a diesel tech a question. 40 years in the gas repair end of it and it was very rare to ask a tech for help and not get it or at least try.

 

I dont know if it is hard to get information from diesel techs--they are the same as gas techs. I think the hard part is finding someone that knows the info for what you are asking. How many people do you know that say hmmmm i think ill look and see how the oil flows through my injection pump. So unless somone has had a real reason to look it just isnt something that is known. I have been trying to find it on quickserv and i have yet to find a flow schematic for that injection pump--i see where you have to prefill the gov but that is it. I also know that Bosch does not like to give out info on their pumps and is sometimes a challange to get a straight answer--i know this doesnt really help but know there are people that are looking--but just havent found the answer.
