I took a heat gun and lightly warmed the badge... leaving it in the sun will do the same thing.

Strong fishing line, saw it back and forth behind the badge. Get a Mr Clean magic eraser or a 3M eraser wheel for the glue residue after you get the badge off.

A heat gun to soften it up, and then some fishing line to cut through the adhesive foam. Companies like Eastwood sell special tools and solvents for this.

Fishing line works great. I've also squirted some lighter fluid on the foam to loosen the adhesive and then just pried the emblem off.

I used a heat gun, credit card and goo gone. Came off rather easy.

How bad was the ghost image once the badges were removed? I'm gonna do a 2006 with a white paint job.

I never did remove them. One of those things I think I'll ge taround to doing and never seem to do it. When I posted this thread I had just gotten my mega. So I was all hot n bothered to mess with everything.
I have removed lots of badges from other vehicles though over the last few years. Heat gun, scraper / fishing line. Then wipe down with acetone.

Why let or even pay someone else do it??

It's super ez just as described…a little fishing line or dental floss (with or with out heat) to cut through the adhesive foam and then a rag with goo gone, or a cordless drill with a 3m "eraser disk", to remove the residue.
