Did Steed mess up on the manifold?

Also Joe, I'm trying to get in magazines too to showcase Mike and Brett's work so I want to do it as clean as possible and pretty.

The manifold should arrive today. All this work on your guys trucks has motivated me to start tweaking my 2010 truck. I'm planning on running a S478 or a S480 on the 10 truck. Going to try a few different set-ups on the truck, in various different stages of power.

Of course mine will not be a fancy set-up like your guys, more of an R&D set-up. Had a few people asking about the 6.7L trucks as of late.

White to match the truck is my vote then.

Just ordered the turbos for the build. I ordered GT3582R and a S476. Its a newly released upsized S475 turbo, but with a better impeller and turbine design. I also bought a S480 just for giggles, I think it would make for the prefect 6.7L primary for my truck.

Just about bought a GT5541R, man they had a decent sale pitch on it. Just wished that I worked more this spring. Some guys are putting down some big numbers just on fuel running that turbo. Makes wonder how that S500 tweaked out turbo will compare. I had the compressor housing openned up and a billet 106mm impeller installed.

The dollar exchange makes shopping down south so much more fun, when you can actually afford to buy what you want.

I was thinking white but they would discolor and get dirty fast. I do lots of gravel and mud too with my truck. Mike, how would I find a color chart from your powdercoater?

Jamie, its about ten pages of different colors or thousands of colors. I'm certain that we can get the grey/black spec like you posted. We could try the white/black if you want to try and see what you think. If you don't like, we can get them changed to a different color. No worries buddy.

The S476 that I bought for ya will flow around 5-10lbs/min more than a S475 and spool the same.

Nope not yet, once I get the turbo I should have it. Its brand new stuff, and I re-configured that turbo differently slightly, so the pt# may not work exactly.

The S475/1.32 T-6 is 171702
The S471/1.32 T-6 is 171701

I prefer basic black but the gray speckle looks very good in the previous pictures & on Brad's DDP kit.

My ATS kit came with flat black ceramic coating on the exhaust manifold, intermediate hot pipe & both turbine housings, & gloss black powder coating on the compressors & cold pipes.

My understanding is that black ceramic can handle the most heat, but the silver shiny ceramic is best for rust protection. That's why I did the turbo elbow & the downpipe in silver ceramic.

Black is simple to clean & to touch up any chips or scrapes with touch up paint. I've had no issues at all with my coating but my twins only have about 5000 km on them.
I recall that Daniela's silver ceramic exhaust manifold has had zero issues & still looks very good.

Mike, Brett & Tate likely have better recommendations since they have much more experience than me.
It was Top Gun Coatings in Calgary that took so long to coat my turbo elbow & downpipe. I prefer them since they've been around so long.
The only other place I know of Hi-Tec Coatings on 52st SE.
