I'm on the same page Kevin. I don't think I will be going the BD route. They are proven but.... Wicked or MPI has a very nice set. I really have to get more info on these new Industrial Injection twins too.

Jamie, are you looking to break 700 on fuel? If not, I can't see the R700 kit being too small. Its just turbos and pipe. S400 turbos are cheap to change anyway, so you can drop a S478 or S480 in there in case it is. If you don't need a big turbo, don't rope yourself into one, it narrows your powerband, which is usually the opposite of most peoples goal.

Tate, do you think the Wicked Diesel kit would do? 62/65/13 over a S475?

the thing about the bd kit is that it is kinda crude in my opinion... just not all that nice...plus as in small, I dont think that the top turbo is even a 62,, 58 or something like that I believe

IMHO, the source and wicked kits are the cleanest kits out there. Now looking at Brett and Mike's work, makes the others kits look like nothing. Awesome work guys!!!

You guys don't need big secondary or really big primaries anymore. External gates have changed the rules.

Jamie, its all about tuning, no matter who's twins your run. Too me I want to adjust things from inside the cab. I'm always adjust the wastegate. For hot street running, I run less gate down low, but as soon you put the foot to the floor I want that external gate to open.

Just spent two-three days chasing air leaks from dumb stuff. It happens, the trick is finding the issues and fixing them. I think just about every truck I've done a boost leak test on, I've found leaks in the funniest/worst spots. Some are big leaks, kinda ruins getting a big primary or that wicked fast spooling secondary.

I agree I am 11 for 11 on trucks with putting the leak checker on and finding a boost leak, including my own truck.

This is everything from factory stock, to Mike's white test mule that constantly has new turbo configurations on it.

Thanks.

Most people are used to seeing the stuff we do on our own trucks, with big ugly fast mig welds, and no finishing work. Twin sets that last a month on our own trucks must either be an amazing set, or caught us waiting for more turbos.

For other people we take a little more pride: Tig welds, finishing work, powder coating, wrapped hot pipes, wrapped wiring, ect... Just the details that finish a set.

One last post about turbo's, and then need to actually do some work at my real job.

Big secondaries are the most over rated piece on a twin setup.

Both Eric Brown, and Darren Morrison have done 12xx whp and 11xx whp, respectively on 62mm secondary chargers, using external gates. Both were using 90mm+ Primaries. One was a CR one was a P7100 truck.

To me unless you are over 1000hp looking at anything bigger then a 62mm secondary, is just giving up drive-ability. That 57mm in BD kit's are good for 90% of the people that have twin setups, as long as you have a way to bypass flow around that small turbine. IE external gate.

EDIT: Both of those trucks were fuel only.

Does the BD kit come with an external wastegate?

To my knowledge it doesn't, but I honestly have never looked into one.
