squeaking/chirping issue - goodyear gatorback?

so my truck has been developing a nasty squeak squeak squeak over the last couple weeks. it was bugging pretty good yesterday while i was out, and i remembered hearing good things about the goodyear batorback belt. so, i stopped at fountain tire in okotoks for a price on one, and they even had it in stock. it was just under $70 tax in.

does this seem expensive to anyone else, or is it just me? if it does seem expensive to you - where is my best bet to find another one cheaper?

i figure i will start here to get rid of the squeak, since the belt is still original it's probably due for a replacement. i'll try the tensioner pulley next if no luck . . . (oh yeah - i am NOT referring to the shutdown chirp, this squeal is while the truck is running, regardless of RPM/gear)

Try some soap on the belt to see if it goes away. If so, change the belt if not, then you have a pulley giving up the ghost. I've run Gatorbacks on all my trucks so far. Like em.

That's about what i've paid in the past for them and they do not chirp. I put 2 in my '96.

sounds good. i called around to a couple auto value stores and all of them were a few bucks more than fountain tire. i'll stick with what i got and hope it is just an old belt that is causing the squeaks . . .

I thought the gator back was around 50$ I get them thru wholesale auto (113ave 168st approx) put one on my 03 chirp stopped.

also kids play chalk rubbed on the belt will stop squeeling, and quiet the chirp some what
