Goodyear Gatorback Belts.....

Goodyear Gatorback Serpentine Belts

P/N 4081261; $40.99
RIBS: 8
Effective Length: 126.0"
Outside Length: ???

P/N 4081265; $48.69
RIBS: 8
Effective Length: 126.5"
Outside Length: 127.25"

I have read that some are using the 1261 over the 1265. Goodyear does not list the 1261 on their website.

Which P/N should I use and why?

Is this belt the best replacement option?

I bought the 1265 about 3 years ago and replaced it with the 1261 a few months ago. I put 100k miles on the first that's why I changed it. Anyways the belt has been fine the tensioner has plent of play for a 1/2 inch. Take it easy

I ran the oem belt for 280,000 miles, changed to a gatorback and it only lasted about 60,000 miles before it split apart.

Buy the replacement and put it under the seat. Nylons don't work anymore in a pinch

I had my stocker belt replaced at about 90k and now have I belive an ACDelco belt, can't remeber. Anyway it never sqelched on shut down but, since the new belt it does. Is this just a quality issue? I know about the TSB but don't wanna spend $100 at the dealer!

The AC Delco belt is made by Gates, the reason for the chirp now is probably because the old belt had a small glazing on it allowing the pulley to slip without being heard. We use Goodyear belts on the car side of our shop, I have used them for some applications on the heavy side also, unfortunately their performance is less than desirable, nuff said.

Does anyone happen to know the part number for the belt (w/ AC), and where a good place is to buy it online... assuming it can be bought for less than a dealer's service department?

Side note. I just purchased a Gatorback belt and they offered me lifetime warranty for it, just keep the receipt and cover and they replace it for any abnormal wear.

I'm still on my factory belt at 87K. I've got the Dayco from Geno's Garage in the bed box for when the original lets go.
