Yesterday was my last day at work and I told them (work) that I would try my best to remain sober until 10am. After that you get what ever.
The next set-up will be the purdry set.

That was the idea. I wanted to see the differences between the typical set-up and something different. I think that they will work pretty decent. I had them spooling-up from my shop vac last week. I just about had the GT35 pushing as much air as my vaccum was. Anyways, its cool just to try. I might rig up an air compressor and do some measurements/adjustments. Even the the S366 was spinning of just a little air flow, I was supprised.
Man can Brett weld, even just using my scrap pieces.
Kev, I can't wait to see what your new engine does. We might have to do search to find a big enough dyno that can handle the new engine.

they are a wee little bit smaller than your. This twin turbos set-up is based on the GT35 and the S366 sized turbo, the little details will cost you a beer or two. I was a cheap skate and didn't spring for a short radius 3in exhaust piece, so we built our own. Its looks like its been tiger striped. I'll have to grind off the welding some more.
Hopefully by the end of the weekend I have them heat soaked some
. I'm going to build my own cold air box/ram air system to go with the turbos, plus the air tubing to the intercooler. The secondary turbo outlet from the GT35 is 2 1/2in diameter and my intercooler is 3in inlet. Totally different than the standard. Down the road we as going to try a external gate. Might even up scale the primary some, who knows.

The primary turbo (bottom) is only an S66? Thats like the ATS or BD towing twins. Can you fit a larger primary in there with that piping?
I'm at a crossroads with my truck... keep it mainly stock & mild or go straight to twins.

If I did go twins, I was thinking I would likely go with an off the shelf set from BD, ATS, Wicked, Source, MPI, etc,
but if you get into the twins building business I would have to consider that.

Why not get a single in there for now? Kevin towed with a silver bullet, and since you have a 6 speed, it would be even easier. Something like a 62/71 would be good for probably close to 600hp on a CR and I know in Kiel's truck it spooled like a stocker in my truck. His is an '03 HO 6 spd.
I rather tow with twins than run a big single, of course the CR guys can do some programming, add an extra CP pump (stuff in more fuel), things that I can only dream my little VP can do. I wanted to build a very responsive, fun to drive 500rwhp twins turbo combo. Yes, I'm gonna kill some of my top end by running the S366. My next step is to get an 4in exhaust brake on these twins.
Joe, Why just build your own custom twins. Its easy stuff, you just have to want to try, its actually fun. A K-31 under your stocker would really change things.
Generally, I like to run the best(expensive) turbo on top and am a bit more picky about which one I use. I really want a 68-71mm inducer sized primary. The GT3582R has a 62mm inducer size, so its bigger turbo than the BD set-up and of ball bearing design. The compressor trim isn't as big as the GT37, so its not going to push the pressure ratio like its bigger bother, but in twins you don't have run a higher pressure on one turbo, sa your sharing the work between both turbos. I will be adding an external 44mm gate soon, down the road, but I want to see how this works first. Baby steps, baby steps.

The biggest problem I have seen from ATS is that they seem to be a little weaker in the shaft... and they seem to spool a bit slower than a comparable other brand turbo,,,
Looks to be the same turbo, ATS doesn't spec the turbine housing size as BD did. I would get Brett to build you an custom exhaust manifold, he does nice work. As for the rest, you can make that as well. Air intakes are easy stuff. Just a few bends and flange, you just pick the piping size and color. You can even pick which cold air box you want use. The the fun part of doing its yourself. That 62/71 works nice as a single and makes decent power. Same goes for the GT3782 or GT3788R, if you want to go twins at some point you could go smaller on the turbine housing for the S300 turbos to help spool everything. The GT37 series just works good as a single or in twins.
Do the custom ceramic coating inside/out the tubes. Wrap the hot pipe, you would have real decent twins package, with very little heat lose.
I would run an external gate with the 58mm inducer twins set-up.
I will try at some point to get the ram air from the cowling hood to go into my twins, for now I taking the easy way thru the fender. I'm tired of my air filter getting covered from the under hood gunk.

You don't need to go to aftermarket intake or exhaust, or manifold. I'm still on the stock manifold. Obviously, I had to upgrade to a 4" exhaust, but these turbos should drop in for you. Intake, just running a BHAF. You could also do a 2nd gen manifold if you chose to. You'd be prepared for twins, and help get rid of that terrible CR exhaust note.
Shane and I were taking a closer look at my new toy,, looks like I dont really understand how the wastegates are setup on this baby,, LOL,, have to some learing and see what they were accomplishing

looks to me the secondary is gated in the ex. manifold and dumps to the hotpipe. Primary is gated in the hotpipe and dumps straight up in a stack.
I think this is the typical way to have drive pressure control over each turbo.
