is he on glue? $8500 for a dirty stock engine. for that price there should be a dirty Freightliner wrapped around it still. maybe I'm a skeptic. but I don't believe it has 7,500 kms on it. and out of a FL70.....something doesn't jive to me.

that answer is yes to your question. but you'd need a dodge flywheel housing. thats an SAE flywheel housing on it. well you could put an allison on that SAE housing though.

lmfao, classic line!

5.9's did come in FL70's, Paul's old FL had a 12v in it. $8500 is rediculously high. The pistons would be a bit different from the 215/235 pistons, but not enough to justify spending an extra $6500 on it.

I would look for a 2nd gen 12V engine. Find an engine that has a P7100 injection pump on it. A 24V with a P7100 would also work, but thats more $$$. the cheapest solution is to get a 12V. You can find them for under $1k. Sometimes you can buy a truck with the motor. Pull the motor and sell the truck, and make money. If you have tons of money, you could put in a common rail motor into the rideThat would turn heads in a 1st gen truck. Painless makes a wiring harness for the common rail. For $7500, thats crazy. I have bought four 5.9L, for less than 4k, so whats that guy on

.............or yes even a CR motor

The only real advantage to running the newer 12V or 24v engine is the second drain. Most of this stuff is getting cheaper, as the world goes to the 6.7L engine. Soon, the 5.9L will be distant memory for pick-ups. You could also slam in a 6.7L and be real whizzy. How badly do you want a 24V engine?

depends on my rear Axle and whats wrong. I talked to a guy who knows his gears and kinda told him what the old critter was sounding like ....... he said before i change bearings pop the Dif cover and go fishing for metal
then look at the carrier

I would definately pop off the rear diff cover and see what you have. If its ugly, you could find another diff. The parts should be out there. Sometimes its just easier to replace than to rebuild.
