FYI- Calgary Race City update

I just read on the Calgary Drag Race Association web page that the contract was renewed for another 2 years. The next CDRA meeting is on April 19, for who is interested.

Good stuff Kev, I will look forward to see you come down and giver hell at the track. Lots of guys been asking for an update on Calgary track, as there is abit of track politics. I don't know if I'm going to volunteer that weekend at the track or help out in the pits. Next monday there is a CDRA meeting at the Black Foot Inn. Seem to be lots of real decent guys at the last meeting and they gave us good info about the track. Just wanted to make sure that our group stays informed. They have a real cool secert street event on Friday night, here in C town.

It would be nice to have a few shake down passes, before you lay down the record breaking run. It should be pretty easy for you lay a beating on the 10.60 record that was set earlier in the year. It appears that they have reset the et and mph records for 2010 season.

I'm curious to see how the 2010 new rules have had any big effect on the ET times and mph for the different index catergories.

Just try and make sure you get the left lane at Race City, right lane sucks *****. Definitely awesome to have our first NHRDA event here in Calgary this year.

I was told that they don't use VHT on the lanes for the Friday night races, but for the weekend events they do. For the NHDRA event, I'm sure that the lanes will be in top shape. They are steam washing the staging lanes and getting the timing lights working this weekend. As long as we get to race, its all good.

Occassionally they do spray VHT traction compound on the launch pads on Friday nites. Only if some heavy hitters are there though.

It's kinda irrelavent for street tires anyway.

Thanks for the updates Mike. Race City has not been updating their website at all.

I can't wait. I just wished that I can run my truck to run this year. Hopefully I can pull off a few runs this year.

Cool, if you only knew where we are at right at the moment. Last weekend we put in the motor, for the first time. Lots of learning going on at least for me. My crew been really good. Some nights we only drink beer, so...anyways Some days we lift mountains. I would like to at least get a 9 second pass in sometime this year. Hard to believe that we started with an almost stripped out truck, only about 6 weeks ago.
