Checked out the new Ram today

Hey, I stopped by my local dealer today, saw they had a couple new 2500's on the lot. Not too bad looking, but the price is just retarded. The new Laramie crew was 71,000 and the slt mega they had was 62,000. I don't see myself getting one ever for that price.

What ever happen to this recesion and car makers going bankrupt and getting bailouts? You think that they would want to sell vehicles, not make us puke. I was looking at 2010 1500 sport 4x4's with all the bells and whistles........................55,000!!!! What the h#ll?

Yeah, tell me about it. When I bought my '06 the dollar was at .70, and I paid 48,500, and it is full load, every option but nav. Now when I go shopping the dollar is almost par, and they want more than ever. Like WFT!!!! I do believe we are getting sca-rewed.

Wait a year or 2 and bring one up from the states, plenty of brokers out in BC,plus dealers close to the boarder are doing all the time. They take there cut,do all the work and resell them in Canada----no warranty(what is that these days, thats one negative). My dually was under 38k(included all fee's/gst/inspection) with 32000KM when all is said and done. There was 3 in Canada like this one and all the dealers wanted close to 50K used.My next big purchase will be a Thunderjet hard top aluminum boat, dealers up here want 60-70k for a boat i can buy in Oregon for 40kUS out the door, one days drive and save 20-30G"s---What would you do????.PS i priced out a new Ford "King Ranch"dually on line----- loaded to the nuts-----80K.

New trucks are nice but I'll let someone else take the hit on depreciation. Depending on where I'm at financially, my next truck will be the previous year's model with 20-30k kms on it. Its insane how much a vehicle, especially 3/4 and 1 ton diesels depreciates in such a short period of time.

I still can't believe that dodge doesn't have lease financing plans. Most corporate vehicles are leased. They must be missing tons of sales just because of this. Who would have thought when you go to buy a new truck you would have a 84 month morgage as well.

My 2008 1500 hemi lease is coming up soon. I might go find an auction and find one of those fancy 3rd gen 6.7L trucks instead of buying a new ride. There really isn't any advantage to buying from a dodge dealer. I bet I could find a low mile 08 or 09, 3500 laramie for under $40k.

this was a large reason I have bought two trucks in or near there last model year run. I had a 2001.5 and know a 2009.5 the savings are huge, they want them off there lots before then new bodies show up. I walked away with a fully loaded mega cab truck for just under 51k, I couldn't find a used mega cab truck for less than 47K and it had 70K on it. I am not the type that gets caught up in driving the latest model either but that makes a differnce for many, just not me.
We where jst lucky we got all the options and colours we wanted
I had a hard time paying 50 let alone 60+.

I have heard horror stories about the 6.4l also..... 6.0 NO just has that ryme to it ....... Really though I hope yours gives you no troubles and you are happy with it. My Brother's Bro-In-Law had a new 6.0, then a new 6.4, now a 6.7 Cummins..... He had a ton of issues with both of his Fords. Granted he bought a 1 string 6.4l with all of the updated flases and tranny issues.

The Cummins is a 2009 late model and he already has 14k on it. It gets better mileage un-loaded and loaded and he loves it...... I hope the new Scorpion Diesel is a WINNER for FORD. I want them to come out and show International what the deal is.

I looked at the new ford, its one nice truck. Its priced right, and if as long as its not a lemon, it should work regardless of brand.

I just reread my 2008 hemi 4X4 lease contract, man how do these guys (dealers) hide all the little charges, and continue to up sell ya. There are a few loop holes that they trip you on. I use my truck for business, so I put on tons of miles. I wonder how these car companies have gone broke. They sell them at a cheap price then get you in the fine print. Sometimes, its a flip of a coin which way to go these day. I still wonder what these trucks are going for at the auction? Hard to win at the vehicle game.
