Thumbs up 4BT in a 40's Chevy....

Yesterday was out in the front yard and a couple guys drove around the cul-de-sac in an early 40s Chevy pickup with a 4BT in it. I had to flag them down for a chat.. Sounded pretty neat. He was looking to up the power a tad with a turbo and injectors, told them to stop by our little site here.

Pretty cool little truck, and a real head turner with that 4BT popping under the hood. They were wondering about anyone around trying the same thing but I wasn't much help.

They can use the same low tech stuff the 1 st genners use if the pump was a VE 3200 gov spring injectors HX 35 or s300 .upgrade the fuel lift pump to the 2 gen piston lift pump inter cooler Fuel pin regrind play with the pump itself turn it up basically there is a lot of stickies on the first gen stuff on here and over on the 1stgen.org site

I didn't get to ask what version of the 4bt he had. We were talking about putting on a hY35 or similar for some more air.

I wasn't sure what would be better, a 12cm HX35 would be good if they were cresting the 250-300 hp mark I guess. Thought the 9cm housing would be good for the displacement.. ah, either way.. LOL

Was it a flat black 51 Chevy truck? If so, that is Eric Moe. It's a pretty sweet little truck from the US.

It was lowered and flat black.. Eric.. Hmm that might be the truck. He said it was from a guy in Edm and he was just driving it. So it was almost 40's? LOL.. When I was a kid we had a 36 Chevy 1 ton that had a similar dash and grill so my numbers are off.

Cool! I've got an '01 with a VP30, hopefully not as bad as the 44 pumps though...! I just picked up an '05 (QSB) and its going into an 80series Toyota Land Cruiser--can't wait.
