2008 Dodge 1500 4X4

A friend of mine, wife bought a 2008 Dodge 1500 4x4(18,000 Kms) with the 5.7 Hemi..I don't know much about the third gen gas trucks...Is there anything a person should be aware as for parts that tend to break??Like does the front driveshaft explode on these years also??

Dave, I owned a 08 4X4 quad slt 1500. Nice truck, wished that I could have kept it. Nothing broke on the truck expect a few door speakers, which I had replaced under warranty.

Its awful for fuel mileage and can't pull a decent trailer. Two big reasons why mines is back on the dealer lot.

I have one, it's 2wd. Having some rotor issues (could have been environmental), power steering pump has been feeling funny, and there was recall for the wiper motor. (early 08) Steering wheel will peel really bad... get a cover.

The only thing I can complain about is the fuel mileage, we had an 03 that stayed around 21-25 depending on who was driving. This one is a mega, so it's a 3/4 frame, and I'm lucky to get 14 on the highway.

Dave, she running the 20in rims? If they are the factory chit, they are awful in snow even in 4X4. I have a set of four winter tires for the dodge 1500. Still lots of tire left in them.

I got 45000km out of mine, before I gave it back to dodge. My buy out was $27k, so that's why dodge owns it.
