These New 1500 Frames are Strong and with the right Braking and Suspension Set-Up there is almost no difference between them and a 2500 HEMI Ram's potential. Yes the 2500's have a solid front axle, larger Ring/Pinion...... The Engine and Cooling are the exact same along witht he Automatic Transmission. Like I already stated..... My 1500 is HEAVY....No 5,000 Pounds...... Real Close to the weight of a 2500 and towing the same boat that I have towed with my last 2500 with a Cummins I am getting 3 MPG difference / less with the HEMI. The HEMI pulls great and will be even better when I get the 4.10's installed.
** Having a Cummins Diesel is a PASSION for most ( Most are daily drivers and grocery getters). I miss the heck out of mine mainly because of the look and sound. I do not miss the cost of operation since I do not have the NEED for it! NOW...with that said I will be getting another 01-02 2500 with a Dump Bed for Yard work and wood hauling...... But I will be paying 10k.....allot less then a new 50K ride to do no more for me then the HEMI. I Love a Cummins Powered Dodge-----Have had 4 in the last 7 years.... I also Love this HEMI Powered Dodge..... I would take a 2500 with the HEMI in a heart beat. Would really like the Power Wagon or one with a 6-spd Manual if I got one just for lower maintenance cost and dependability........... Rant Over.... My 2 cents
