Chris what tractors would these be, I know that agco doesn't use def but on the terragator, and the new rogator has it. But the C series tractors don't have def. I know Case just went to def this year on there big tractors. I worked for both these companies at some point in the last year. Has deere been using it or when you say tractor are you referring to semi trucks.
Also things I don't like about def\
Ruins hardware
Stinks
Burns
Leaves a white mess if spilled
Having a def tank mean one more place for coolant to leak from(coolant heats the def).
Also one very complicated expensive system.
Just my thoughts.

AGCO DTB/Massey 8600/Challenger MT600C and D series...now the Gleaner Super S7 series Combines, and I also assume the new MF combines will too.
I can agree with some of your dislikes, but we literally covered an engine in DEF, including EVERY computer on there, and 2 years later we have no problems at all. The white mess came off, and the tractor is just running like crazy! I really can't find any other downfall that isn't worth the minor inconvenience!
Deere is going DPF with Regen...I can't see that being smart in a dusty field, and even less smart on a dozer in a coal mine, or on a log skidder in a forest??

I run JD loader tractors and there new 7R series has the DPF under the hood. Sounds kind of scary to me.

But, since you only work on the CAT engines, then you're correct, they haven't had to change yet. Not really sure what CAT will do.
What engine is in the AgChem stuff now, still Deere, or did they dump that trash yet?
