My truck is too new to give you an accurate indication on range, but I saw a video on You Tube from some British University who showed a guy disarming and arming his vehicles security system by placing the remote under his chin and pressing the button and it was amazing how much range he got. You might give this a try.

Don't know what it is specified to be, but our factory remote start seems to have about a 50-60 yard range with clear line of site... I have to walk half-way across the parking lot at work to get it to function. Works well at the house though since it is a lot closer.

I don't know about the factory one from a distance as I rarely use mine but we have a couple of cars with after market ones and they will work from the second floor of the gym where I can see the car's park lights come on (indicating a start) to various parts of the parking lot in the winter.. distance?? 1000 -1200ft, I'll pace it out today.

In my opinion the range of the factory remote start sucks. I had a '10 with it and now a '14. If i were ordering i would order it without. Am planning to have to factory one removed and go with a one way after market starter and add on the "SMART START" module. This allows you to start your vehicle with your cell phone. As long as your vehicle and cell have coverage the range is unlimited. My wife has it in her car and it works great.

What do you mean by from my cell phone which is through uconnect? I was unaware that uconnect has any starting funtion.

Not on Canadian models. There is a reason for this but I can't recall what it was.
