E range vs. D Range Tire for MPG

Thinking about getting Hankook Dynapro MT-RT03 tires when my BFG All Terrains wear out. I've been very happy w/ the BFG's, but am thinking about the Hankook's because they are available in a E range tire in the 315/70-17 size. E-Range for this size means 65 psi vs. 50 psi for the D range. I have always run my BFG's at 50 psi (max pressure) & am wondering how much (if any) my MPG will go up by running a tire at 65 psi. Also, slightly higher load carrying ability would be nice as well.

Steel. . yout right, sort of, BFG does not offer the E in a 315. . . .the 265s look too small for the truck IMO. . . .So when I went ahead and bought the BFG 315 in a D range use the max weight rating as a gage for tire capability. I think we give up a few sidewall belts from D to E though.

Actually BFG makes a E rated 305 on a 17 rim, you usually have to order them.

Nobody commented on Hankook only what sizes you can get e rated tires in. Is Hankook not a good tire?

Sorry, not familiar with them enough, I was just throwing out Nitto because I have been looking at those as replacements and didn't know if you were aware of them.

As a side the also have these through Nitto which are more aggressive like the Hankooks you are coveting.

Not really Coveting - just aren't alot of 35" E-range tires.

Decently priced 35" E-rated tires that will last any amount of time, you mean. I agree. I already spend around $500.00-600.00 every 1-1.5yrs. on my Mustang tires.
