Have A New #4040 Aero Turbo Muffler For My 05 Cummins

Will I get better diesel mileage with this all stainless steel flow-through muffler?

Will it be much louder than my factory 05 Dodge/Cummins muffler?

*******
I just acquired a Travel trailer (6,500 lbs/dry -10,000 lbs gross) and of course my mileage did drop. At 55 mph. I'm doing about 14.5-15.5 on the flat with a 48RE Auto Tranny. Would the Aero Turbo muffler help my towing mileage any?

Also does this type of muffler affect the turbo charger in any way, positive or negatively? Dodge told me that installing the muffler wouldn't affect my warranty.

More due to the fact that he probably can't keep his foot off the gas pedal more than anything else eightball I wouldn't put much stock into any claims of better fuel mileage on mufflers or exhaust. They just say that crap to sell more stuff. About the only benefit you're likely to see is it'll sound better, have lower egts, and maybe 4 or 5 more horseys.

Is the muffler the 4040L? The L means it has a resonator built in to the muffler and it is not loud at all. I was really concerned about this and I really like the aeroturbine.

No, it's the non-resonator.....straight #4040 model.

I can't imagine that with your cat in place it will be too loud or that you'll experience any negatives with your 4040. My advice is to try it. My truck with a 4040L is, if anything, too quiet.

You will like the Aero Turbine muffler, I have one, it is a little louder than stock, but not loud enough for the wife to notice. Gas mileage went up about .5 MPG and the turbo spools up quicker. A nice addition to the truck.

I have a 5 inch (5050L) and with the Cat it is not loud. Drop EGT's by about 100* plus. Runs great!
