I have 2000 miles on my 2011, just deleted Dpf/egr yeserday,and want to change oil this weekend. Wondering
what kind of oil should I run? Read somewhere to run different
oil if the dpf was deleted, but not sure what. Thanks

 

I've been running Mobil Delvac and it seems to be working. Oil is much cleaner than before delete. Alot of guys swear by AMSOIL or ROYAL PURPLE but with the Delvac on costing 9bucks a gallon at Wally World its hard to beat. Also, check out Genos for filters. Thats where I get mine.

 

I have been running Amalie XLO 15-40HD fleet oil for years.

 

I guess I mean What "grade" does it have to be?? Looked
at walmart this weekend and most say CJ-4. Is this correct?

I just changed mine on Saturday, WHY are the stock filters put on so **** tight?? Every truck I ever had the stock one is so hard to get off.

 

Where do you buy the amalie oil??

 

I just get it ath the auto parts store, I don't think there is anything special about it, its just one of the brands they carry. I have heard its the same stuff in the Kendel bottles.

 

Anyone have any thoughts on shell rotella oil? Saw a case
at SAMs club, I think it was around $50. For 2 2.5 gallon jugs.

I would run rotella 15-40 till you have around 20 thousand miles just to break the truck in, (tow lots) then switch over to rotella 5-40 synthetic, thats what I did and at 95 thousand miles no problem, she runs good.

 

I just changed my oil with Priemum Blue 15W-40. O'Rieley had it on sale this past week for $9.99 a gallon in my area. Sending my oil off for oil report from Blackstone to see how the engine is doing after this change.

 

I would look at a CI-4+ Amsoil AME since your deleted.
