Couple quick questions. I'm gettin ready to do the deletes and am unsure on a couple things. So let's say everything is deleted and programmed for the deletes. What if you take it in for service and the dealer does a reflash or ECM update. Will it erase or mess up your ECM if my h&s is downloaded? Or can you remove it before going in for service? But if your deleted, don't you have to have the h&s on at all times? Just makin sure I know in case I ever have to have the truck serviced after the deletes are done. Does the same apply if it is a smarty? If your deleted, will your truck even run temporarily without some type of programmer? Maybe I'll never have to have my truck serviced but the only reason I ask is because I was waiting for the navigation update that my sales guy told me was being worked on because the are some addresses that don't come up and he said it was a known problem and dodge was aware of it. Sorry it's long post but this place is the best for quick answers. Thanks

 

it will run but the CEL will be on. no way around it. make sure you return your truck to stock (programming wise) have seen it when someone forgets to remove program and return to stock. the dealer flashes ECM and customer tries to load tuner back on because of the flash wiped everything out and the tuner won't load because of

"unknown software"

be safe and remove it and return to stock. you can never go wrong by doing that.

 

Just reinstall all of the stock emission equipment be it the egr cooler, egr, DPF, and cat. Do a return to stock download from the programmer. Chances are you will not be flagged for running a programmer. Mines been deleted for over a year now with no issues.

 

Ok. I really didn't want to put the stock stuff back on if I didn't have to. So just a cel if I remove the tuner software. Won't they wonder why the cel is on or can I tell them don't worry about that, just do the flash. I guess if I can get away with just removing the software and not have to put all the emissions crap back on. I may never take the truck back to the dealer but atleast now i know. Thanks guys

 

we have done flashes with the stuff removed. just make sure your programmer is returned to stock before you go in

 

I just took mine in to have all of the recalls done with the exception of the ECM recall, the Mini takes care of that anyway.

I left my Mini installed and showed the service manager. I told him I did not want the ECM flashed and made sure that was written on the work order as well as making sure the tech doing the work knew not to flash the ECM.

They did it all with a smile and I gave them a 5 star rating on the service satisfaction survey

 

I'm not going to worry about the recalls on my truck. All the emission equipment is gone anyways, so whats the point. The truck has worked awesome. H&S has fixed it up good, just downloaded the lastest program from H&S 6.8.18, going to take the truck out for a rip and see if there is any difference.
