I believe that the 1500 Eco Diesel is a very good truck for those needing a 1/2 ton diesel truck. I have attached a link to another web site that has several threads on the 1500 ECO Diesel truck. But be forewarning that the ECO Diesel engine is not a CUMMINS engine and the oil, fuel and air filters are MOPAR only for now. Oil also is special for this engine and must meet the following specifications ACEA C3 AND meet Chrysler MS-11106 to meet warranty requirements. The engine is built by a Fiat subsidiary VW MOTOR.

Good luck.

Boy I glad I do not live in CANADA diesel is only 60 to 70 cents a gallon more right now. When we had straight summer fuel gas was higher than diesel for two months and than changed to just a 10 cents higher. It was until winter fuel showed up at the pumps did diesel jump up to the higher prices. Jim W.

Here in Ottawa, the gas has been at $1.06-$1.10 for the whole month of november and I've been able to Fuel up my diesel at $1.16-$1.22 for the whole november month also, not sure why the difference is not as much between gas and diesel, I would have though the gas price would have went down lower than that. But I'm not complaining on my fuel price, I used to pay $1.42 (premium) in gas last year before I bought my truck and sold my car...
There are lots of reviews of the ecodiesel online, I heard good things of it and was actually one of my possible choices for a truck, but since i drive standard, that option fell down quickly...
I heard the ecodiesel was released in april on purpose this year in order NOT to release that new engine during winter months in cold weather climates. Considering that, don't know how it will fare in the really colder climates and that is one of the big things I would look for info on if this applies to you.
