Fuel Pressure Gauge

DTR,

Looking at finally starting to mod. 1st thing is for gauges. I plan on running 3 pillar mount, boost, egt, and fuel. Copying you Blake...

Question is for the fuel pressure gauge do I need the fuel pressure gauge isolator? Also what length fuel pressure hose?

I will also be installing the GDP MK2 with big line kit at the same time.

Sorry for the newbie questions, still learning.

Well if you go with the Isspro gauges then no, no isolater is needed. A sending unit is used to transmit the info to the gauge.

Seen here is the fuel pressure unit. I tapped into the Glacier Diesel kit, it will be your easiest route, as the fitting and hosing is provided for you and youll be installing it at the same time.

Now if you use a mechanical gauge then you will have to get an isolator setup.

Awesome Blake, those pics make it look a ton easier than I first thought. Really appreciate it.

Going to be doing these myself, little nervous.

If you get a gauge setup that uses the sending unit its a snap.

The gauge comes with the brass sending unit, the MK2 kit comes with the aluminum fitting and hose clamps. Nothing needs to be sourced elsewhere.

I was going to order the diesel manor setup they have. It says it comes with tubing and an isolator. Doesn't mention a sending unit and I can't find one listed on the website.

Ok, got it. I'll call them tomorrow to order the EV2s. Thanks for the quick replies. Now if you'll be sitting behind your computer on Saturday when I attempt this that'll be excellent.

Hate being diesel stupid...

Oh, BTW, there is a couple week lead time on the chrome trim if you go that route from Isspro

Gauges won't get here until Tuesday but the GDP MK2 did. So I installed it, sort of a PIA. No, I didn't take pics. Anyways for the MK2 install you have to take off the EGR crossover tube. I couldn't believe how much soot is built up. It's absolutely scary/disgusting. Needless to say I am no longer on the fence about deletes.

Question is I've read a lot about the HG on these things and temps. I tow heavy so I think I want to keep the cooler in place. The GDP kit does this to keep the coolant circulating. Am I right about this??

Eventually I will be installing studs and a GDP waste gate.

I think it does keep it flowing.

I have done several MK2 kits and havent taken the crossover tube off. I did remove the shroud though.

Yeah, i'm sure if I had more of an "array" of tools its possible. Took me a good 20 minutes to figure out I had to squeeze both sides of the fuel links to get them off. The clamp on the EGR side of the tube bolt is stripped, and it wouldn't move up or down. So I just ended up taking the EGR off, then re-installed.

I did find the Sinister Diesel EGR/Cooler delete that not only lets the coolant still flow, but also comes tapped for the EGT gauge. From what i've read the EGT's will be about 200 degrees cooler from that location than from the manifold.

As luck would have it though, Saturday before I installed the MK-2, the 4 wheel drive service and ABS light both came on. Dealer visit on Tuesday..
