To All of My DTR Bretheren

I want to issue a public apology. I have been neglecting the DTR as of late, and truth be told I feel terrible about it, and miss it dearly.

I have accepted a new role in the oilfield and long story short, Im one heck of a busy person.

That being said, I know many many many of yall have sent email request for info, Smarty downloads, and advice in general, and with my new schedule I am truely sorry if I have not been able to reply, or have missed replying to you.

So, please, accept my humble apologies and if you are in need of any help, advice, and by far the most popular request, software for the Smarty, or heck, if ya just want to shoot the bull, by all means shoot me an email, PM me, send carrier pigeons, Indian smoke signals, dont matter, Ill try my durnedest to get what it is you need.

Yall have a good day now!

Since you have so much free time, can you create a mobile app for DTR so that I can more easily surf on my iPhone will sitting on the toilet? That'd be great.

Thanks!!

Been waiting for the big dually burnout video you promised up when you put the new turbo on.

Mr Blake, I might have a story to put a smile on your face.
I installed an ARB locker into my 02 rear axle (dana 80) last month, and to celebrate I did tried to do a decent two wheel burnout (a good 80-100footer, well that was the plan). Been driving a single leg open diff in the truck for the last five years, so its been awhile. Well anyways I got the tires smoken pretty decently to about 40mph, the trans just lame shift 3rd gear. It held the gear for about second or two. The truck slips back into second, my engine rpm is pegged at maximum 3500-3750 rpm's and forward motion slows down some. Finally for some reason the truck shifts into 4th gear. Long/short story, is the 02 no longer has a 3rd gear and I could only put down about 30-40ft of two rubber tracks. Found a bunch of trash in the valve body and sticking the 2-3 valve/shuttle valves. My 47RE #4 might be toast.

Month before, my 2010 68RFE #1 transmission was throwing codes.

I should have bought a manual transmission truck. At the time when I bought my 02, there was a twin to my truck on the lot, but with a NV-5600 transmission.

Hopefully I can get the old girl running again, by just simply cleaning out the valve body. Honestly I'm not a very much of a transmission guy, and the internals of the dodge valve body might be a good challenge for me.

You.

Have.

No.

Idea.

At this point the only thing keeping me sane is Redbull, coffee, and Copenhagen.

Sometimes I brew a 50/50 mix of the coffee and Cope, and use the Redbull instead of water.

Mike,

Took a trip to Amarillo couple weeks ago with a coworker of mine, well, boss more or less. Made a u turn on a freshly paved highway for lunch, was in third gear, started to turn and they chirped a bit, he just kinda grinned, so i laid into the skinny pedal, when I was done fishtailing and laying down four rubber streaks, he was goggled eyed and hangin on the the you know what handle. Apparently hes never sat a truck that big sideways for that long.

Stared me down and said that was the single most impressive thing hes ever seen a 1ton dually do.

I take that as a challenge.

Well looky who shows up. Hopefully you double filter the 50/50 coffee/cope mix. Probably been hard finding the computer keyboard under all that paper work.

Glad to here your ripping thru the gears on the rocket. My 2010 couldn't melt the tires if I was driving on snow.

I'm slowly making progress on my 6.7L engine build. Hoping to have it built by next week. I have 100HP nozzles and a LLY CP3 for it. Been waiting more on the transmission guy to get me a beefed up 68RFE to hold the beast. Not sure if I will get to use the new engine. Last week a guy called me to work on a 2011 3500 srw truck, that's had three head gaskets installed already, dodge want's to stick the poor fella with a $23k engine bill plus labour.

My 02 truck is down, still waiting for time to rip the old transmission out. Probably going to throw a fresh engine into the old girl.
