Will Light Use Cause Problems with DPF Regen?

Thinking about trading for a 2011 but I'm wondering if light duty use will cause trouble with the DPF regeneration. Except for summer weekends & a couple weeks vacation when I tow a trailer to Yellowstone, I use my truck for back and forth to work. It's 12 miles and about 20 minutes each way, stop n go with about half the distance on 55 speed limit roads. In the winter my 5.9 temp gauge gets to operating temp about half way (if I plug in and use the winter front - else it never gets warm during the winter).

Will this kind of use work ok on the 6.7 Cummins - is my daily drive enough to keep the DPF system working ok? I won't do the DPF delete - looking for input from others who use their truck like mine - do you have DPF issues or does it work ok? Dealer says it will work fine, but they want to sell.

Thanks for sharing your experiences

The 2011 will go into REGEN as low as 15MPH. So you should be OK with REGENS.

I was sitting in my drive with the truck idling yesterday and it popped up an alert stating that the DPF was 90% full and regeneration was required.
My thought was ok do it.....I don't have a regen button to push and make it happen. It took about 10 min.s of driving for that message to go away and for the regen process to start. I was well over 50mph the whole time. It also took forever to complete the regen process.........actually I'm not sure it did complete yet.
I can see a complete delete in the very near future!!!

It would be nice to know what the engine is doing. I mean, would a light or EVIC message be too much to ask? Does the H&S stuff advise you what is happening with the DPF and Regens? That and a turbo timer is all I want. And this ash tray... That's all I want. And this chair....

Where did that alert pop up? I thought there was no indication of the regen process? I know mine hasn't indicated it yet - or I just missed it.

A message will pop up under messages in the evic if the DPF hits a certain percentage. Other wise you won't know when it happens. I drive mine 23 miles each way with a lot of local driving. Never had an issue. This truck warms up much quicker than the older trucks due to the egr. Also turning on the exhaust brake while warming up will help it even more...

The evic is where it popped up.

Sherriff - I love it.
Most Canadians and our present government are behind the US all the way no matter where we have to go.
