Buy truck. If you want warranty, drive for 60K miles then delete.

Delete's do not just produce a cleaner running powerplant but you will also see a small increase in fuel economy. Just do not get carried away with performance if you want fuel economy.

Trucks are lacking serious power stock and face some serious "Awakening's" when deleted.

In the end, a Cummins compared to a Hemi is not fair at all.

My FIL has an 07.5 and he was told to turn on the ebrake every time he starts it and keep it on. He mostly putzes around his little Co. town and he hasn't had ANY problems since he started leaving the ebrake on. I imagine it would help all the 6.7s. Craig

Leave E-Brake on 100% of the time.

Yep! That's what the dealer said to do when they did the last flash. It makes sense to me to keep things hotter. Craig

You are "wondering how bad the sooting up issues really are on stock set-ups?" Well, take a look at this thread here:

John

It is NOT a terrible problem.

It is an inexcusable abomination.

Yeah, that's true Blake! Hey, I got a call from my Dodge Tech buddy at the dealer earlier today and he said ANOTHER 2011 4th Gen came in on their wrecker this morning with another BROKEN TURBO! He said the truck was FULL of soot in the EGR, the intake and was so thick on the compressor side of the turbo it froze the shaft up and then broke it! He said it was nearly identical to our Members truck here.

Im really starting to think the DEF after treatment with a reduction or elimination of the EGR would be the best way to go. For the stock guys anyway.

The deleters just mind the head gasket and drive it with a smile.

Yeah, I agree with you on that Blake. The Ford 6.7 Trucks seem to be doing well with that system and are getting better mileage than Dodge 6.7's too.

To be honest, while it is easy to get a 6.7 to the state mine is and run reliably, warranty issues notwithstanding, I think it would be even easier if the DEF system was there. Even MORE so if DEF could be implemented to remove the factory EGR system completely.

Think about it, have a programmer to kill DEF injection functions and remove the exhaust. Wouldnt even have to pop the hood. (Unless youve never stabbed the turbo clamp from underneath... )

Fellas, I think back to the thread that asked fellow "Deleters" if anyone regretted it.

Again, warranty aside, I think is was my best decision.

Of course looking at my SIG I have made a few good decisions. I cannot wait to get home and drive my truck now.
