Mods for 2013

Anyone know when or if they will be coming out with some performance mods for 2013. I can't even find a billet gas cap available for 2013. Thanks.

There is no gas cap on the 2013 model, just a flap.

That was the same when I bought my 2012. (Bought it in Sept 2011). It was at least a year before any aftermarket parts were available.

I don't think so as the 2013 has DEF fill in the same hole and the spy pics I saw showed a larger fill door, but I still haven't seen a real live 2013 3500 yet.

Looked at a 2013 in GP a few weeks ago.. The DEF cap is in beside the fuel filler. The fuel filler just has a spring loaded flapper, no cap. That would bother me...

Hi I was at the TDR Cummins Rally in Columbus IN which was hosted by the Cummins Corp. Ram was on hand also they brought a rolling chassis and several 2013 Rams for a ride and drive for us to operate.

The cap less filler tube for the fuel tank has a flapper in the tube which is spring loaded to keep it closed there is also a seal around the filler door to keep dirt out. The reason I think there is no fuel tank cap is the how close the def fill cap is they could interfere with each other so the diesel cap was replace with the cap less system.

Rumor has it that Genos garage might offer a rubber cap in the near future to close off the fill tube.

It may be harder to mod these newer trucks such as the truck can now sense if there is a fuel filter in the filter housing if not the truck will not start . Another item pointed out was the older ECM had a 76 pin connector where the 2013 trucks ECM has a 96 pin Connector. More diagnostic capability with the newer trucks ECM's so engine modifying may be a thing of the past.

I sure hope so, it's hard to believe there is no cap, although the fuel door has a seal it doesn't seal that well and I'm sure water can get in in heavy rain or car wash. Son picked his up last night but I'm holding off until I see how it performs emission wise, it's sure looks different underneath, he called in heading out of town 1400rpm @65mph Aisin 3.42, he's going to check fuel burn so should have some numbers in awhile.

The fuel door has to be one of the worst ideas on these trucks. I filled mine up for the first time last night and discovered that something about the set up also makes it very, very picky about the angle of the nozzle or else it will cause it to shut off. I had to hold the nozzle through the entire fill up. Not impressed.

I'll definitely be buying a supplemental cap from Geno's or whoever comes out with one to cover the fuel/dirt/water entry port that these trucks come with.

Thankfully, I have had no problem filling mine. It doesn't seem to care what angle the pump nozzle is.
