The remote start will shut down when ANY codes are set, but will restart normally with the key. One thing to check if the truck is stock and not deleted is the intake temp/pressure sensor that's located in the side of the intake horn that attaches to the cylinder head. It's held in place with a single screw. The sensor tells the ECM what the temp and pressure of the air about to enter the cylinders. When we deleted our trucks one was so badly contaminated with carbon we could not get it clean and had to replace it the other truck even though the intake was clean the sensor was still badly covered with carbon.

I looked up that P2609 and its' the "intake air heater system performance", perhaps your grid heater is not turning on, do you see it cycle in the volt gauge? I should add it is supposed to go into high idle when the truck is cold and even if warmed up if the temp starts to drop it will go back to high idle. Do you run a winter front, is your coolant topped off?
