G56 whine
G56 whine
I have a high pitch whine in 6th running 70-73 mph. If I push the shifter to the right it goes away. It seems as if their is a lot of pressure pushing the lever to the left. Has been like this since I bought it. I has not seemed like a big deal. Just wondering if their is a simple fix.
Next time your driving your rig listen in each gear at the same rpm as what you would be at in 6th at 73 mph.. see if you have the sound.. My truck does it also, I notice it in each gear around 2300 rpm.. I never get to that rpm in 6th but i imagine its there if i was to get there.

Mine had a slight whine in it stock. I went away after the trans broke in, around 18k or so.
Now with the South Bend, deletes, 5" TBE, etc... You cant hear nothing out of it...

Add a Qt
Try adding an extra quart of transmission fluid through the shifter. Mine did exactly the same thing plus being extra noisey at start up because it's parked uphill. One quart and everything quiets down.
Do a search. There are a couple of threads on it.

Love it. Little grabby at times, such as low speed turning in a parking lot and such. But it sure puts the power to the back wheels. It was quite a bit louder with the DMF gone, but the Gorilla Juice took care of that.
