Factory Intake Tube Diameteer

2012 3500 6.7 4X4

Wondering if anyone knows or can measure the diameter of the factory air intake tube. Mine has the K&N cold air kit on it. Was that way when I got it. it is getting a MAF code and I'm pretty sure its from the diameter of the tube change. FYI. yes I've cleaned the sensor. yes, I've replaced it. No, it's not over oiled.

I'm actually half way inclined to go to my son to his local truck club and even trade someone that has a clean stock filter setup. However, i sure do like the way the CAI takes air from outside the engine bay and how it look under the hood.

My latest thoughts are, since the aftermarket tube is bigger, the air is moving slower, thus throwing the code. If I can find out the diameter needed, maybe i can reduce the diameter of my tube somewhere and remedy the code. At the least, I can test my theory.

if possible, whoever replies with a measurement, try to get it at the place where the sensor is located. I would imagine changing the diameter in a different place will only change the speed of the air at the point where the tube is reduced.

Isn't the MAF sensor in the factory air box? I know there is a combined air pressure/temp sensor in the intake horn but the mass air flow sensor I thought was in the factory box.

Yes the maf is intake tube, the combo pressure sensor is in the horn. I keep having a random maf code and a random check engine light dealer keeps telling me it is the combo sensor and replaced it and I still get the code,I've gone around and around with my dealer over this they finally copped out said my after market bumper is causing it but yet they keep selling the same bumper to other dodges. I'm going to spend the 40 bucks from genos and replace the one on the intake tube by the air filter my self.

I don't have the factory setup. I've got the K&N CAI. It came with that on it. K&N 63-1562 Air Intake, 63 Series Aircharger Kits The MAF is located inside the tube between the filter box and the turbo.

Thinking more about this...what would be the use of a pressure sensor in the intake/maf area? Isn't this are under a vacuum?
