67500 Cummins service maintenance
67500 Cummins service maintenance
I have a 2013 2500 Dodge Cummins diesel 5.7. I just hit the 67500 mile mark last week and received the "ding" as I drove down the road. Called my dealer, they said it needed to be serviced, which includes the crank case vent filter, EGR valve cleaning, and EGR cooler cleanin. My question to you is, if I just do the crankcase filter and leave the other stuff alone will it do any damage to my engine.
Probably not right away but if you've ever seen the inside of the egr system you'd want to do this more often then what the book says. You may not want to see the inside.

- Most (not all) dealership service advisors and service managers are BUFFOONS
- They "ASSUME" nothing changed with the 2013 & newer DEF pickups
- It is a verrrrrrrrrry profitable service that the service department promotes
- Mainly......as evidenced by the pictures below from my 2014 owner's manual.

gsbrockman, two things.
1. Read the owners manual. I have, but not retained it.
2. I want to thank you. I talked to a guy that saw my truck. Said he had just spent $1300 on the REQUIRED service on his Ram. I am at 60,000 miles and while picking up my truck for recalls I asked about the 67,500 service and was told $1300.
Sir, if you were closer, I would gladly buy you the biggest steak dinner in town.
I will keep my eyes on the manual more often.
Thank you very much.
I will have a talk with the service rep in a couple of weeks with owners manual in hand.
