I've heard from several diesel mechanics that those 6bt's are "weak" on the rods bearings, maybe sthg to check while it's out...

New Thick cummins head gasket and new head bolts/studs ?? wouldn't be a bad idea for future mods

Oil pans tend to get severe rust, clean, inspect and paint?
Fresh set of frost plugs?

the stock cummins bottom end is capable of handling upwards of 700hp easily. if it were me, i would throw new bearings at the bottom end. just for the added assurance that it's fresh! again, that's if it were me. if mine ever comes out for any reason or it gives up, it'll be plenty worth the rebuild!

Second the oil pan gasket. $30 and a 1hr job start to finish including cleaning the pan inside and out. You don't want to know how long a job it is in the truck.

It would be a good time to replace lifter cover gasket if it's leaking, it's not fun to do while the motor is in the truck.

X3 on the oil pan gasket...maybe even do the lifter inspection cover while it's in front of you. They can be a royal PITA to do 'in situ'.

If you didn't tighten the timing case bolts, when you did the KDP, now's the time. A loose bolt can be as deadly as a dowelpin.
