I am a little confused. I have the 2003 Dodge Ram Service Manual on CD and a 2003 HO truck on order. It doesn't seem like the Cummins motor maintenance schedule is listed as anything different than the gas motors in the service manual (3000 mile oil change intervals). If you go to the Cummins website they say it's 7500 miles for the new Cummins in the Dodge. Where is the information in the service manual?

Also, there is no specific mention of oil certifications in the service manual for oils for use in the diesels but I know they have a different certification they recommend?

According to Cummins and Dodge, Severe Service(normal use) is 7,500 miles, or light use(no real-world conditions) is 15,000. Oil quality is CI-4.

 

Where can I get a 2003 Dodge Ram Service Manual on CD? I would like one.

 

Apparently you can buy them cheaply on ebay pretty easily, someone from this site actually posted theirs online for a brief time and I snagged it pronto knowing I was planning to order a new truck soon (even though at the time I was still thinking seriously about a new F*rd !)

 

<br><br>That's what I've read but that has to be in the service manual somewhere. Mine only shows 3000 mile intervals as far as I can see, there must be a CTD supplemental maintenance owners guide that is seperate from the standard service manual that I have.

 

The service manual does not have the correct maintenance guide for the diesel. Your owners manual does have it but watch the symbols and don't confuse your service interval with the CA one which is twice as often.<br><br>The oil you need is 15W40 CI-4 oil. I use Shell Rotella myself.<br><br>Casey
