Thumbs up Wow..'05 Cummins

Just registered here. Just picked up an '05 quad cab 4x4 with the 5.9 Cummins. We just stopped at the dealership to get a brochure. 5 hours later.... it's in the driveway. Smokin' deal! Anyways, my cousin has a '99 Dodge Cummins and let me tell you, this new rig is so quiet, you can hardly tell it's packin' a diesel. Inside the cab is like sitting in a library; quiet as hell. Absolutely love everything about this truck. Bought it pull a 5th wheel camper, our next purchase. I got the shortbox but understand I'll need a sliding hitch because of it. Anyways, if you want a brochure, stop in at a dealership and they'll give you all you want with your new truck!

Radman,

Glad to hear about your new truck. This site has a wealth of knowledge, so welcome aboard. One piece of advise, stay away from the high performance forum. The appeal to Bomb is vey hard to reject. Kind of like being in high school and wanting to drink beer. Be careful or you will have more than just that new truck in your drive way.

Radman, glad to see another Nebraskan! I live in Lincoln, what dealership did you get it at? I bought my 04 a year ago, 26k now, no complaints! BTW, some very good info here, learned more about this truck in 1 year than I knew about all my previous vehicles combined. And I work on my own stuff!

Radman I'm sure that you'll love your new truck. I got almost 3k on mine in under a month. Addictive as hell!

Being a new member also, these guys seem to know what they're talking about. Just remember: Bomb it if you want but don't expect them to respect you in the morning!

Hey wipe that off your face, your not in the truck right now
Welcome and enjoy your new toy. That owners manual is a wealth of knowledge and good (library) reading. Beside it mught answer some your questions before you decide to ask them.

Have fun and as someone else said stay away from the performance section at least for a year.

I guess I have myself to blame for not introducing myself here when I got my new one a few months ago and getting the above warnings about the high performance section. So I guess I have myself to blame for all the money I have spent and none of you!! Anyway congrats to Radman. And to all of you my wife says that when I want something I just figure a way to justify it to myself and her even if it is not logical, so if any of you haven't mastered this yet and need some help send me a pm and maybe we will set up some classes. LOL Or better yet if any of you want to teach a class about denying the urge to spend more money on a $42,000 truck that would be the better class to take.

Thanks all for the warm reception. I think I'll heed your wise advice and stay away from the performance forum. . Gunpowder, I got it at Baxter Dodge here in town. Supergewl, you're right.. the owner's manual has plenty to read and is pretty darn informative aside from the billion pages on how to work the seatbelts. The only accessory I'm planning on adding for now is a set of step bars (preferrably black) so the wife can get in and out easier. Oh yeah, then maybe a chrome bug deflector and then... oh yeah, maybe some.... uh-oh... I may be in some trouble here...
Thanks again for the the warm welcome... I'll be in the background watching, learning and maybe even throwing my 2cents in every now and again...

Radman, before you ask, it tells you in the owners manual how to turn off that stupid seat belt chime Congrats on your new ride, you'll love it!

I bought my new leftover 2004 quad cab turbo diesel long bed 4x4 on december 28th and I am really enjoying it so far. It has 220 miles on it so far. This is my first diesel and driving it has been fun. I am buying a camper in the next month or so. Me and my lady friend and daughter are going to travel the great southwest this coming spring and summer.

Just picked up my first new truck on Saturday (1-8-05). Already has a little over 300 miles on it and love it, except for the leakin clearance lights. Other than that I love the 325/610 motor.

Welcome, you newer fellas.

We'll either make you happy with your CTD or die trying!

You should probably save yourself some time and twin it now with the Edge/attitude and Don M injectors.
