whats behind the doors

the doors in my 03 have a ring to them when a rock hits them from the tire

my 02 did not have this

i am wondering what is different

has anyone had thier door panels off to see whats behind them

are there any insulation or undercoating on the door or is it just bare metal

is it painted or maybe some kind of rust treatment

I don't know what's behind the doors, but it doesn't make me happy when I think about the person who made the decision to put the tires on these trucks along with the cheap paint to create all the rock chips on the rocker panels. Hello DODGE!!!
Or how about the doors in the winter time when it has snowed??? Nothing like a bunch of snow on your seat before you sit down. Ok, I've had a couple rum and cokes, but I still love my Dodge with a Cummins and I never thought I would say that. Even though my first car was a 72 Plymoth Duster that was rusted out.

Everone, have a nice evening.....

What do the tires have to do with rock chips?? You think they picked a tire that would pick up more rocks or something?? ???

??? ??? Those rum and Cokes must be getting to you. Snow on your seat?? What's snow??

Re:whats behind the doors

Hey Scotty,
It's an original 396 car with all the luxary items like, power steering, brakes and a power rear window, that still works. But it's been sitting in the California sun since 83 and needs restored, so right now it's in the garage.
Hoss,
Must be you haven't had your truck in a snow fall, it collects at the top door seal and when you open the door it lands on the seat. No I don't think they intentionally put those tires on there, however if your selling something as a package you should test it out and take care of things like that from the beginning. What the heck, were only paying $30,000 and up for these trucks.

Re:whats behind the doors

The rain does the same as the snow. It is a poor design that I overlook because over all the truck is great.
