More then likely its metric, but you make a standard size work, kind like how 13mm is the same as 1/2.

Yes, invisible! J/K

And I concur....1 5/16" and this particular nut is not metric.

If you are pulling it, my pitman arm pullers would not fit between the arm and box. Had to do modify the puller to work

Then you know the correct answer.

But realize that the new nut with shaft for the brace is 1 and 1/4" so you'll need a DEEP socket for that one... I didn't have one so I just used an open end wrench and a three foot cheater bar and PULLED hard.

Just incase anyone reads this later.... I just pulled mine yesterday to install a steering brace. The instructions for my brace and everywhere else I have read say 1-5/16. That actually fit very loose. I used a 33mm socket and it was much tighter. The nut was really one there good. I had to hold the ratchet up with my hand and push with my foot to get it to come loose.

The steering shaft sector nut with the brace is a 1-1/4 nut. I couldn't find a socket that would fit over the whole thing, so I just used a big cresent wrench and tightened mine down. 180 ft lbs is ALOT. Just I just went to town until I felt it was good. It isn't going to fall off becasue it would have to go through the bearing.

I also used anti sieze on all the bolts I took out. I don't want to worry about them rusting together over time. I little dab all over the threads and tighten it down and your good.
